Back from Cologne, happy and rewarded

For the first time, Kristalia attended the IMM Cologne trade fair. On the return journey, one of our suitcases weighed more than on the outward journey: it contained a prize!
The Interior Innovation Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the furnishings sector, was launched in 2002 by IMM Cologne; organized by the German Design Council.
The Elephant chair with a wood base (legs in solid beech), designed by Neuland studio owned by Eva and Michael, won the Best of the Best prize.

The artistic talent and new creativity of Ka-Lai Chan

shellf1 The artistic talent and new creativity of Ka Lai Chan

Kristalia is always looking for new talented designers, who can enhance its collection with innovative ideas, such as Ka-Lai Chan. Born in 1985, she recently obtained a degree from the Utrecht Academy of Arts but already has considerable experience in creating works of art and design projects, which have been presented at international galleries and fairs. “With my creations“, says Ka-Lai “I want to reveal the hidden value of everyday objects and materials, allowing people to see the beauty of things and experiment in an unusual way.”
Shellf was created in Ka-Lai Chan’s studio as a limited edition design object, which then became a standard product thanks to Kristalia technology. A combination of rectangular units in different sizes, in MDF with lacquer finish, are connected with invisible 45° joints. The visual effect is dynamic and well-structured: the young artist and designer got her inspiration from “an animal coming out of its shell”. read more

Kristalia goes to the theatre with Christophe Pillet

b1 Kristalia goes to the theatre with Christophe Pillet

The TNP occasional table, designed by Christophe Pillet to furnish the Théâtre National Populaire, one of the most prestigious French cultural institutions, is a new and important protagonist for furnishing homes and community areas, both indoors and outdoors. Its cast iron base, personalised with the theatre’s logo, supports a square or rectangular top in bent sheet metal. The entire table has a powder-coated lacquer finish in three colours: white, black or the same shade of red used in the Parisian theatre.
Founded in Paris in 1920 by Firmin Gemier, the Théâtre National Populaire will re-open on 11 November, after restoration work has been completed, at Villeurbanne near Lyon.

Joko: the collection expands

J1 Joko: the collection expands

Presented for the first time at the last Salone del Mobile di Milano (April 2011), this version of the Joko chair, designed by Bartoli Design for Kristalia, has a slightly wider seat and all-embracing armrests. This chair has a linear shape with sophisticated appeal. In addition to entirely removable upholstery, it has a slimline yet sturdy structure, which makes it light and lets it fit dynamically into its surroundings.
The final version will be presented in January 2012 at the Imm fair in Cologne and at Maison&Objet in Paris. However, the Joko collection is destined to expand with new versions already being researched.
