Back from Cologne, happy and rewarded

b01 Back from Cologne, happy and rewarded

For the first time, Kristalia attended the IMM Cologne trade fair. On the return journey, one of our suitcases weighed more than on the outward journey: it contained a prize!
The Interior Innovation Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the furnishings sector, was launched in 2002 by IMM Cologne; organized by the German Design Council.
The Elephant chair with a wood base (legs in solid beech), designed by Neuland studio owned by Eva and Michael, won the Best of the Best prize.
Some of the photos taken during these events can be viewed on our Facebook page.

Work in progress on the Elephant…

B 1 Work in progress on the Elephant...

Unvealed for the very first time at last Biennale Interieur of Courtrai, the new version of the Elephant chair with wooden legs is currently a work in progress. This project is aimed at meeting a contemporary need to mix contrasting materials in order to generate a new synthesis of technical exercise and aesthetic experience.
The design is by the creative couple Neuland Industriedesign, of  Eva Paster e Michael Geldamacher, who designed the well-known polyurethane and leather versions also.
Here is Michael at Kristalia‘s headquarter, working on the prototype of the new Elephant chair.

Generous and light, accommodating and dynamic, the Elephant chair marks a working partnership between Neuland studio and Kristalia. The basic version is available in hard polyurethane in various colours, with a 4-leg base or slide base with a chrome or satin finish, or in the same colour lacquer.
